Beer 369 - Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit (3.5 stars out of 5)
Brewed and bottled by Abita Brewing Co, Abita Springs, LA. Bought at HEB, Cinco Ranch and drunk at home in Katy, TX while preparing dinner of turkey burgers, sauteed mushrooms and fries cooked in the oven.
web site: http://abita.com/brews/satsuma.php
The web site says; "Abita Harvest Series incorporates the finest Louisiana-grown ingredients. No artificial flavors, extracts or oils are used in Abita Harvest Series, only real fresh ingredients that are Louisiana-grown and Louisiana True.
Real Louisiana Satsumas, golden wheat, oats and the finest barley create Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit. Pale and cloudy, like the haze on a hot summer day, this white beer has a sweet and subtle citrus flavor with a touch of spice that is cool and refreshing.
Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit is very versatile and can complement a number of dishes. This brew pairs well with salads, fish, shrimp and lobster, as long as the dishes are not too spicy. Thai dishes, which often have citric notes in their flavor profile, would also perfectly compliment the orange flavors in Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit."
Very pleasant, very easy to drink, and a great aperitif beer.
