Beer 55 - Finchley's XB English Alle

September 9, 2010 - Beer 55
Finchley's XB English Ale
Specially produced for Aldi Stores, Warwickshire, England. Another beer delivered to the US by Pat and Colin and drunk by me at home in Katy, after a day spent visiting the Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham and having lunch with Sofia in Austin.
The bottle says "The finest English malted barley, crystal malt and wheat malts are combined with the very best aromatic hops from the Teme Valley in Worcestershire to brew XB, which is a tremendous example of the craft of British Ale Brewing. It has a superb balance between the dry hop character and the sweetness from the malts."
Nicely flavored with a little bitterness on the finish, a fairly light body at only 3.7% alc/vol but pleasant enough to drink as an aperitif before dinner.
