Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown

3 stars out of 5
Brewed with pride by the Leinenkugel family for five generations since 1867. Beer with natural flavor. Bought by my friend and colleague Rusty and drank at home in Katy, TX while pondering what to make for dinner. I drank this beer at a cool room temperature, the weather in Houston for the last few days has been quite chilly, in the 30s and 40s at night, in the high 50s or low 60s during the day, so the beer was cool without being cold.

After several sips of beer and long looks in the refrigerator and pantry I decided on wrapping l'ill smokies in Pillsbury crescent rolls, baking them and serving with Progresso Ministrone soup. Nice and easy.

The beer had a wonderful nut brown color in the glass, but the head and fizz dissipated very quickly, after only a short while it was almost flat. The flavor was quite bland, nothing really interesting to wrap my taste bud's around, but nothing bad either. A run of the mill, easy to drink beer.
