Beer 234 - Sierra Nevada Sierra 30th Anniversary Ale (3.0 out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Sierra Nevada Brewing, Chico, CA. Bought at HEB in Cinco Ranch as a special treat for Saturday night and drunk at home in Katy, TX before and after dinner.

The bottle says "Brewers reserve is a special ale highlighting our pioneering history and the innovative spirit that has carried us through all these years.  It is a marriage of our three most acclaimed ales: oak aged Bigfoot, Celebration ale, and fresh pale ale blended together and generously dry-hopped.  Come join us in celebrating thirty years with this most special brew.  Drink it now, or save it for a future anniversary of your own. 9.2% alc/vol"

I think (I hope) that this beer would improve with age. It was a little rough around the edges.  The hoppiness overpowered the malt and made the beer very aggressive.  It left a not altogether pleasant aftertaste.  This is a beer for those that enjoy strong hop taste and are less concerned with balance.
