Sierra Nevada Tumbler

3 stars out of 5

Brewed and bottled by Sierra Nevada Brewing co., Chico, CA. Bought at Kroger on Fry Road in Katy while doing the weekly grocery shopping and drunk at home in Katy,TX while preparing tomorrow's lunches and dinner for tonight. Each evening I prepare a personal salad for each of us containing cubes of turkey ham, a small handful of blueberries, three chopped strawberries, cubes of low fat queso fresco, slices of half a plum and pieces of an eighth of a cantaloupe, the I add fresh spinach to Patriq's container. We take that to work and eat it with a yoghurt and an orange for Patri or grapes for me. Makes a great lunch.

Dinner starts with an egg roll served as an appetizer while dinner is cooking. These were chung's vegetable egg rolls zapped for two minutes in the microwave and served with a little packet of sweet sauce that tasted like orange marmalade. The rolls were OK, BUT not so great, still searching for a frozen egg roll that is crispy when cooked in the microwave. Dinner is a roast Turkey breast with brussel sprouts, broccoli and boiled red potatoes.

The bottle says "Autumn Brown Ale. Tumbler features fresh roasted malt used straight from the kiln to give it gracefully smooth malt character perfect for an autumn afternoon."

I found the beer to be a little bland. It was pleasant enough but it didn't display anything in the taste to make it stand out from the pack. I expected more body from the color, but it was not to be. It was OK but nothing special.
