Beer 262 - Amstel Light (2 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Amstel Brouwerij< Amsterdam, Holland, Bought at HEB in Cinco Ranch, TX and drunk at home in Katy with dinner of chicken wrap and steamed vegetables.

the web site: http://amstellight.com/#/bier/

The bottle says "Inspired. enlightened, free of inhibition and full of life - this bier from Amsterdam is a reflection of those who brew it as well as those who drink it."  The web site adds "Only 95 calories per bottle, its unique mixture of barley and hops delivers a full - never diluted - flavor, that's just as tasty as regular beer. 3.5% alcohol content."

I am wondering if I got a bad bottle.  The top required no effort at all to pry off and the smell from the glass after pouring the beer was of old vegetables.  The beer looked clear in the glass and had a nice head when pouring.  The head and the smell dissipated fairly quickly, but the taste was bland with no character.  I think I'll try this again in the future to see if I can get one that smells better.
