Brewed at Scourmont Abbey and bottled by S.A. Bieres De Chimay, Belgium. Bought at HEB in Katy as my special treat for this weekend and drunk at home in Katy, during and after lunch on the patio on a beautiful spring day with the temperature in the mid 70's and low humidity. Why would anyone want to live anywhere else.

The web site says; "Named Grande Réserve, it is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer , refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised. 9% ABV"
This is a delightful beer, it is a beer for sipping with a meal, treat it like wine, swirl the beer in the glass and smell it, then take a first sip and and enjoy the full bodied taste of well balanced malt and hops. The taste is delightful when drunk at cellar temperature (54 deg F)
