Beer 258 - Odell's Red Ale (2.5 stars out of 5)

Brewed and kegged by Odell's Brewing Company, Fort Collins, CO.  Bought and drunk at the Mellow Mushroom pizza restaurant on 16th Street in Denver as an appetizer before dinner as I wound down and people watched out of the window overlooking an outdoor patio and16th.

The brewery web site: http://odellbrewing.com/beers/seasonal/red

The web site says: "The Rocky Mountain Goat is no ordinary goat. Just like Odell Red is no ordinary red.
We took the American style red to a whole new level by adding a variety of aggressive American hops giving this ale a distinctive fresh hop aroma and flavor. We think you’ll agree this red has some serious kick. Available January thru April.  6.5% Alc. by Vol. 50 IBUs"

Unfortunately this beer did not live up to it's hype but it may have been the end of the barrel.  The beer was cloudy in the glass and was bitter on the first taste and bitter on the aftertaste with nothing from the malt to balance the bitterness.
