Beer 393 - Magic Hat Circus Boy (4 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Magic Hat Brewery in South Burlington, VT Bought at HEB in Cinco Ranch and drunk at home in Katy, TX while preparing dinner after a tough day at work.  Needed comfort food, so created fried rice with added sweet corn, English peas, onions, mushrooms and scrambled egg combined with a turkey burger and fresh tomatoes.

The web site says “Unfiltered and unfettered, Circus Boy is a unique and refreshing American-style Hefeweizen. Is he a who? Or a what? Or perhaps some of both? Be amazed by the flavorful haze of this wonderful wheat beer. 4.5% ABV”

I enjoyed this beer a lot, it was light and refreshing and a pleasure to drink

The 680 people who have rated this beer at RateBeer.com disagreed a lot, though they have determined that the lemongrass used in the brewing of this beer disqualifies it as a Hefeweizen and classifies it as a Spice/Herb/Vegetable beer.  (http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/magic-hat-circus-boy/56699/) They gave it an average score 0f 2.77 which puts it in the 30th  percentile overall and the 35th percentile for its style.

638 reviewers have posted notes at BeerAdvocate.com (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/96/28536 ) and overall they score it with an average of 3.47 which gives it a B- = Worthy overall.
