Beer 376 - Rahr Bucking Bock (3.5 stars out of 5)
Rahr and Sons, Fort Worth, TX. Bought at the Spec's store on Fry Road and drunk at home on Saturday afternoon with a chicken and cheese sandwich and Texas style chips while folding the laundry (that's multitasking for you)
web site: http://rahrbrewing.com/our-beers/seasonal-beers/bucking-bock.html
The web site says "Bucking Bock - it's a traditional German Spring Bock Beer - golden in color and mildly hopped. Kick'n in at 7.5% alcohol, it has a smooth malty character that will surely thaw you out after a long cold winter. Spring is here and so is Rahr's Bucking Bock! "
The bottle adds "When weighted against the pleasant aroma of spicy hops, the slightly sweet malt flavor provides a smooth balance. It braces us for the thaw of the cold winter months while its sunset golden hue turns our thoughts towards springtime. 7.5% ABV"
Quite pleasant, the hops come through, as does the strength of the beer - a little daunting for an early saturday afternoon beer, though it is smooth and easy to drink.
