Beer 74 - Badger First Gold

September 21, 2010 - Beer 74
Badger
Brewed by Hall and Woodhouse ltd, Blandford St Mary,Dorset, England UK and brought to the US by Pat and Colin on their recent visit. Drunk at home in Katy, TX while preapring baked beans on toast for supper.
The bottle says: "A classic country ale from Dorset using a single hop variety for purity and character. First Gold are dwarf hops that grow in low hedgerows, more reminiscent of a vineyard, enabling a better quality harvest. A clean, fresh, distinctive ale with hints of orange and spice from the hop, perfect with traditional English roasts and pies."
This beer was delightful, it was clean and fresh as described and a delight to drink with the (semi-traditional English) beans on toast with a fried egg, otherwise known as welsh rarebit.
