Ladyface IPA
Brewed by the Ladyface Ale Company, Agoura Hills, CA. Bought and drunk at the Ladyface Ale Company Alehouse and Brasserie at the same address.
After discovering this place about six months ago I make a point to visit it at least once on every trip to Moorpark. They serve an excellent range of draft beers split about 50/50 between beers they brew themselves and beers from other California breweries. The food menu is interesting and though the selection is small, there is something for every taste.
Tonight I sat on their patio and drank the IPA. A perfect example of a strong (6.6 ABV) full bodied IPA. Medium brown color, slightly cloudy, slight smell of oak and a well balanced taste that provides a little bitterness as it's being drunk but leaves a pleasant residual aftertaste that can be savored. Very nice, very enjoyable.
