Beer 53 - Jennings Cumberland Ale

September 7, 2010 - Beer 53
Jennings Cumberland Ale
Brewed by Marston's PLC, Jennings Brewery, Castle Brewery, Cockermouth, Cumbria, UK. Bought from the UK by Par and Colin and drunk at home after spending the day at the NASA Space Center south of Houston.
The bottle says "Take a sip and savour the taste of this superbly refreshing golden ale, brewed using only the finest ingredients. Renowned for it's stunning scenery, the Lake Dustrict with it's imposing fells and tranquil lakes offers a unique sense if peace and freedom. Close your eyes and enjoy your 'peace' of the Lake District."
It appears the Britis definition of golden is different from the American since this beer is more light brown than golden in the glass. The taste is very nice, full bodied without being too strong with a crisp bitterness that enhances the flavor and gives it character.
