Beer 105 - Unibroue Chambly Noire
October 22nd, 2010 - beer 105
Unibroue Chambly Noire
Brewed and bottled by Unibroue, Chambly, Quebec, Canada. Bought at Trader Joe's, Camarillo, CA and drunk at home in Katy sitting in the back yard enjoying the setting sun and relaxing after the work week.
The bottle says "This premium dark ale honors the brave soldiers of the Carignan-Saltieres Regiment and their traditional black hats. In 1665, the regiment is dispatched to New France by King Louis XIV to settle hostilities with the Iroquois"
The beer was pleasant but not distinguished, easy to drink but without the strong caramel/chocolate flavor I was expecting. It went well with the cheese and crackers we ate while talking about our day and week and our plans for the weekend.
