Old Speckled Hen
Brewed by Morlands Brewery, St Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Bought at Specs Liquor, Houston and drunk at home in Katy while preparing sausage, eggs and beans for dinner. Yum. Delicious.
The bottle says "first brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the MG car factory and affectionately named after an old MG car used as a factory runaround - The Owld Speckled Un"
This remains one of my favorite beers. I search it out on draft when I visit the UK. It is a nicely balanced beer, full bodied with no hint of bitterness in the taste to mar the complex flavors that come through during drinking and in the aftertaste. I like it a lot.
