Beer 242 - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (3 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, Chico, CA.  Bought at HEB and drunk at home in Katy with lunch on Saturday afternoon.

web site: http://www.sierranevada.com/beers/paleale.html

The web site says: "Our most popular beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, is a delightful interpretation of a classic style. It has a deep amber color and an exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. Generous quantities of premium Cascade hops give the Pale Ale its fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor. 5.6% ABV"

The bottle says "Sierra Nevada pale ale is a completely natural ale.  There are no additives, only the finest malted barley , whole hops, brewers yeast and crystal clear water. The fine layer of yeast in each bottle is a result of the traditional bottle conditioning process that produces carbonation naturally."

I expected to be more impressed with this beer.  It was OK to drink, but there was still a slight sharpness in the initial taste and a lingering hoppiness in the aftertaste that detracted from complete enjoyment.
