Beer 222 - Saint Arnold Texas Wheat (2 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by The Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Houston, Texas.  Bought at HEB and drunk t home in Katy, TX.

web site: http://www.saintarnold.com/beers/texas_wheat.html

The web site says "A refreshing, flavorful filtered wheat beer. The perfect beer to accompany a meal or for a summer's day. The wheat contributes a lighter flavor while maintaining a rich body. The beer has a light hop profile -- just enough to give the beer balance and complexity. The light fruitiness is derived from a Kölsch yeast strain. A chill haze may be present, which is a characteristic of wheat beers. Saint Arnold Texas Wheat is best consumed at 40-45° Fahrenheit.  4.9% alc/vol."

I was a lot disappointed in this beer.  I like St Arnolds brewery a lot and their beer is usually flavorful and enjoyable.  This, though, was light in taste and flavor, and there was almost no body and definitely no complexity.  OK to drink on a hot summer days when you want something to slake your thirst, but pretty much any Texas meal would overwhelm this beer.
