Beer 217 - Blanche De Bruxelles

Brewed and bottled by Brasserie Lefebvre, Quenast, Belgium.  Bought at HEB and drunk at home in the semi-darkness since our power had been cut off.  When we drove home at around 6.30pm we found that everything north of I-10 in Katy was without power, so we carefully navigated our way across intersections without traffic lights, drove past our house and every other house in the street without lights and went to look for somewhere to eat.  It looked like the area south of I-10 still had power.  We drove through very heavy trafiic because of the non-working traffic lights to Katy Mills thinking we could eat at Fuddruckers only to find that Katy Mills was also without power. So we toyed with the idea of eating at Long John Silvers until we saw the line of cars at the drive in window, before driving back to the house, lighting candles, finding our stash of working flashlights and lighting a fire.  We then cooked scrambled eggs on our gas stove and sat in front of the fire and read e-books and talked.  The lights came on at around 9.00 pm, so I posted the picture but cannot really remember what the beer tasted like, except it was OK in the dark.
