Beer 216 - Spaten Optimator DoppelBock (3 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Spaten-Brau, Munich, Germany.  Bought at HEB and drunk at home in Katy, TX while preparing dinner of nutrisystem pasta and fresh vegetables.

web site: http://www.spatenusa.com/3_products/3_4_beer_health/index.htm This is a ink to a page on the web site called "Beer and your health" gives lots of good reasons to drink beer, this is worth reading!!

The web site says "Spaten Optimator, The classic German dark beer, bottom fermented 'Doppel Bock'. Flavor profile: Full bodied with a deep dark color and rich roasted malt flavor. Original gravity: 18, 2 %
Alcohol content: 7,2 %"

I enjoyed this beer and would come back to it, but when I was drinking it, there was not enough flavor to leave a lasting impression. The sweetness of the malt came through but there was not enough added by the hops to make this memorable.
