Beer 167 - Moylan's Brewing Co Hopsickle Imperial Ale Draft

Brewed by Moylan's Brewery in Novato, CA.  Bought and drunk at the Brew Hub in Katy, TX where I ate a chicken Quesadilla and read the paper while relaxing after shopping for Patricia's Christmas presents at Katy Mills mall.  Patri was shopping with Sofia at Memorial City Mall, hopefully looking for my present!!

The brewery web site: http://www.moylans.com/pages/brewery/beers.htm

The web site says; "In Celebration of the Hop...  This is a "Hop" tribute, worthy of a King's Imperial Court! Enjoy the blast of fresh Tomahawk, Cascade and Centennial Hops as they stimulate the taste buds in a truly imperial fashion. Pucker Up! Alcohol 9.2% by Volume."

This beer is not for the faint of heart.  It is strong, very hoppy, not really sharp but a strong bitter taste throughout the drink and the aftertaste.  The strength of the beer is surprising - at least it caught me by surprise - and it would be difficult to drink more than one pint without some food to absorb the alcohol.  the cheese and the tortilla from the Quesadilla saved me, but even so one and a half pints were enough.
