Magic Hat Brewing Company, S.Burlington, Vermont. Bought at Kroger in Katy, TX while doing the weeks grocery shopping and inexplicably spending $207. Drunk at home in Katy, TX while waiting for Patriicia to get ready to go out to dinner. It is Patricia's birthday, Sofia has come home for the evening from UT so we are going to Koby Japanese restaurant in Katy, where Sofia can get vegetarian, Patricia can get sushi and I can get something yet to be decided.
The bottle says "best when fresh. Best enjoyed by date on the neck of the bottle." I searched inn vain, there is no date anywhere on the bottle, so I have have no idea if it is fresh, though I'm guessing that the name "Ourtoberfest" suggests the beer will be fresh in October. The bottle also says "The ancient ritual of brewing a distinctly rich and flavorful beer is a performance to behold. Our mysterious marriage of time honored ingredients harmonize with chaotic chemistry, humble patience, and blind faith to create unique beers to share in the rousing company of kindred spirits. Cheers!" 5.4% ABV.
The beer has a nice shoe-polish brown color and is beautifully translucent. Smells like ber and tastes like beer, pleasant enough and easy to drink, a nice lightly flavored beer that is good for drinking with October harvest foods.
