Beer 357 - Shiner Ruby Redbird (2.5 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Shiner Brewery, Shiner, TX.  Bought at Randall's Grocery Store in Katy and drunk at home in Katy, TX after Patricia and I watched the movie "The Lincoln Lawyer" at a $1.50 movie theater on Westheimer and Highway 6.  The movie was good, but I'm glad we read the book before watching the movie so we could fill in a lot of details missing from the movie.

the web site: http://www.shiner.com/main.php

The web site says "Shiner Ruby Redbird is brewed with genuine Texas Rio Red Grapefruit, the signature sweet citrus of the Rio Grande Valley, and ginger. This lager beer features grapefruit tartness and finishes with a 'lil kick of ginger. With Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit and Ginger, Shiner Ruby Redbird is a crisp and refreshing summer beer. 4.2% ABV"

This beer would probably be fine on a Saturday afternoon sitting in the garden listening to the birds, but it wasn't great as a beer for a nightcap.  It tasted more like a fizzy beach drink and would not have been out of place with a few bits of fruit in the glass and a green plastic umbrella.
