Brewed and bottled by the Real Ale Brewing Co, Blanco, TX. Bought at HEB Cinco Ranch and drunk at home in Katy, TX on Thursday night as a test to see how my stomach was doing and whether or not it could tolerate alcohol. Unfortunately, it didn't do so well and though I finished the beer (don't want to waste any more good beer) my throat was still sore and the acid in my throat and stomach didn't help the tasting.
As a sideline, we have now discovered that this was not just GERD, but a full blown Lupus relapse. Occasionally, once every few years, my Lupus flares up and turns on my body. Usually it comes as flu like symptoms and lays me low for a few days with high fever and very sore bones and muscles. In this case, it tuned my stomach and gut against itself, as well as making every part of my skin sensitive to touch, making all of my main joints ache, particularly my fingers and more so my neck and right shoulder, and making the soles of my feet incredibly sensitive and sore. This is Sunday and it is mostly over now. My neck is still sore and my feet are still very sensitive, but the new antacid the doctor prescribed, along with the painkillers for the neck and shoulder pain seem to be working well. My stomach is no longer upset, though I am very constipated, but I still get tired easily and my feet are very sore. Enough about me, now for the beer.

The web site says:
Sisyphus Barleywine Ale
Intense and warming, Sisyphus was Real Ale's first seasonal product. A healthy portion of hops balances the rich toffee undertones of the malt. Weighing in around 11% ABV, Sisyphus Barleywine is not for the faint of heart - makes a great nightcap!
ABV: 10% IBU: 77.00 OG (plato): 24.00"
