Beer 30 - Saint Arnold Summer Pils

Originally posted on facebook on August 17, 2010 - Beer 30

Brewed in Houston, TX Bought and drunk at Ziggy's Restaurant, Houston, TX having dinner with Patri's Aunt Lia, Sofia, Jazmine and Patricia.
A light gold color with a small head in the previously frozen glass. I know that some domestic beers have to be served very cold so you can't taste the beer, and can only feel the cold liquid sliding down your numb throat and a frozen glass aids in keeping the beer cold long enough to drink it and still be cold. But why freeze a glass for a beer that should be drink cold but not frozen. So I waited for the beer to warm a little and was rewarded with a pleasant, light bodied pilsner that went perfectly with my lemon tilapia. The gentle flavor didn't overwhelm the fish but it did provide a nice contrast to the lemon that had been brushed on the fish before cooking.
Ziggy's uses natural, organic, homegrown and hormone free food in it's unpretentious restaurant hidden deep in the Montrose district. The food is always good and sometimes exceptional and the service is pleasant and friendly.
