It s a sad Sunday evening in that I took Polo the cat to the airport this afternoon and put her on a flight to Edinburgh, Scotland so she can be reunited with her Mum and Dad and get introduced to baby Austin. Polo is a perfect example of the cats stories are written about. She is loving, cute, cuddly and fiercely independant. We will miss her a lot.

The web site says "Westmalle Tripel is a clear, golden yellow Trappist beer that undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle (9.5% alcohol). It is a complex beer with a fruity aroma and a nice nuanced hop scent. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with a bitter touch carried by the fruity aroma. An exceptional beer, with a great deal of finesse and elegance. And with a splendid long aftertaste.
The Westmalle Tripel is indeed called the “mother of all tripels”. This type of beer was first brewed in Westmalle abbey in 1934 when the new brewing hall came into use. The current formula has stayed practically unchanged since 1956, thus more than 50 years."
This is another of those beers that will get better with aging, though it is very good at the moment. I enjoyed this beer a lot, it tasted good from the beginning, had a very pleasant mouthfeel and body and left a very nice aftertaste. This though, is a beer for serving with food. It is not a session beer, one large bottle is close to being enough for drinking on its own, this beer would go very well with a chicken wrap or a lightly spiced burrito and would be a magnificent accompaniment to blue or any other strongly flavored cheese and biscuits after dinner. Yum.
Thanks for looking after my baby for the past 10 months. We really do appreciate it! We can't wait for her to get here, I just hope she settles okay after the lovely warm weather she's gotten acustomed to and all the attention and love she's gotten!! xzx
