Beer 350 - Pike IPA (3 stars out of 5)
Brewed and bottled by the Pike Brewing Company, Seattle, WA. Bought at Spec's on Old Katy Road and drunk at home in Katy, TX with dinner.
Web site: http://www.pikebrewing.com/beers_PikeIPA.shtml
The web site says: "OG (ORIGINAL GRAVITY): 1.062
ALCOHOL VOLUME: 6.30%
MALT VARIETIES: Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils
HOP VARIETIES: Columbus, Willamette, Chinook, Goldings, Amarillo
IBU (BITTER UNIT): 60
COLOR: Amber
YEAST: English ale
FLAVOR PROFILE: Powerful malt backbone is balanced with aromatic herbal hop character.
HISTORY: Highly hopped to retain freshness on the voyages from England to India."
An interesting beer, with a lot of hops in the taste. I think the abundance of hops detracted from the taste and made it a little bitter for me.
