Beer 152 - Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye Ale

This is another beer brewed by the Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco, TX, it was also bought in the sampler six-pack from Randall's and drunk at home relaxing after a light supper and a tough day at work. Today we were told the name of the company that is buying Car Care from Shell.  Illinois Tool Works is a large conglomerate - the 160th or so largest company in the Fortune 500 - with existing interests in automotive aftermarket brands.  There is, of course, no information yet on the organization structure or their plans for the future of Car Care and it will be "interesting" to see what they have to say.

The Real Beer we site is: http://realalebrewing.com/about

The web site says "Tawny red and full of malt and hops, Full Moon's unique flavor truly satisfies. The smooth sweetness of malted rye and barley is complemented by generous helpings of Willamette and Cascade hops, resulting in an assertive American amber ale. ABV: 5.70%    IBU: 42.00    OG (plato): 14.00"

I found this beer a little bitter, the hops may be overdone, because the balance is not quite right.  The bitterness in the aftertaste detracted from my enjoyment of the beer since I did not have any cheese or pickles to help modify the bitterness.
