John Smiths Extra Smooth

John Smith's is possibly the oldest brewery in the UK, it was founded in 1758 and renamed John Smith's in 1852 when the man with that name created John Smith's beer.

This can, however, was brewed and canned by Heineken UK Ltd, Broadway Park, Edinburgh, Scotland who acquired the brand in 2008 after it had been bought several times before by breweries growing by acquisition.

The beer was OK, nothing really special, light to drink, fairly low in alcohol (3.6% alcohol) low in bitterness and pale in color.
