Rahr Angry Goat

5 stars out of 5

Brewed and bottled by Rahr and Sons Brewing Company, Fort Worth, TX. Bought at Randall's grocery store near the Galleria in Houston, TX and drunk at home in Katy, TX while preparing, with Patricia, Mama Leny's recipe for Lasagne. This Lasagne is eaten by the Santos family on special occasions and was requested this time by Sofia. We will prepare it this evening, then cook it in the morning and take it with us to Austin where we will have lunch with Sofia and Rigo and two of her classmates at UT, Natasha who shares her dorm room and a Norwegian student we have not yet met.

I bought this beer because I wanted to try something different that may have some flavor. It was quite expensive at $7.49 for a 22 oz bottle, but I've had so many bland beers recently it was worth the experiment. I was not disappointed. This was a delightful beer. Very dark brown in color and a nice head when poured, the taste was flavorful and balanced. A strong taste without any bitterness.

The bottle says "Angry Goat ain't no sissy Weizen Doppelbocik, it is bold and will slap you in the face! Angry Goat is made from the stuff that bonds with a ender heart, but hits hard. It is complex with pronounced dark malt flavors that are complemented by the estery banana and clove like flavors found in any good Weizen Doppelback.
Traditionally there was an ordinance in Germany that reserved this style for the sole consumption of the royal family. Now they are for everyone. But stand back and make room for the Angry Goat, because he's first in line."
