Beer 95 - Shiner Octoberfest

October 10, 2010, beer 95
Shiner Octoberfest
Brewed in Shiner, TX bought and drunk at Willie's Ice House, Katy TX with a black and blue burger and fries. Very tasty Angus beef burger with black peppercorns and blue cheese eaten on the patio of an open air very-casual-dining restaurant.
The bottle says "raise a stein to Octoberfest. Here in Shiner, TX (pop 2,070) we're suckers for tradition. Which is why this classic Octoberfest brew is made with the highest quality two-row barley, Munich and caramel malts, along with German grown Hallertau Tradition and Hersbrucker hops. It's our way of honoring our ancestors and the beer they loved to commemorate with. So raise your glassesto tradition and enjoy this utterly classic brew. Prosit"
So I did enjoy it. The beer washed the burger down nicely though it wasn't a great compliment to the blue cheese, the taste was nice enough to overcome this handicap and shine through.
