Beer 112 - Kona Brewery Fire Rock Pale Ale

October 28, 2010, beer 112
Kona Brewing Fire Rock Pale Ale Draft
Brewed in Hawaii, bought and drunk at Norton's Grill and Pub, Willowbrook, Houston, TX while waiting for Patricia to eat sushi with friends.
This is my first time at Norton's. Is a typical sports bar, lots of TVs, all tuned to sports. They had 32 beers and 2 ciders on tap but most are run-of the-mill standard fare you can get in many bars. Pretty standard sports bar menu.
To the beer. The web site says "Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp refreshing "Hawaii-style" pale ale. It's signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced cotrus-floral hop aroma comes from liberal amounts of Galena, cascade and Mt Hood hops added to each brew " Yes, crisp is a good adjective, and the flavor was great. I enjoyed the clean taste and slight bitterness. It went very well with the Fish and Chips.
