Beer 265 - Brakspear Triple (3.5 stars out of 5)

Brewed and bottled by Brakspear Brewing, Marstons PLC, Wychwood Brewery, Witney, Oxfordshire, UK.  Bought at the ASDA store in Telford and drunk at Mums in Wellington as i prepared an easy dinner using last nights leftovers and a lovely wheat roll and cheddar cheese made in Pembrokeshire.  This beer was actually drunk on Sunday night, so it is acting as a filler for the beer I should have drunk on Friday night while on the plane from Houston to London when I drank champagne because there were no new beers.

the web site: http://www.brakspear-beers.co.uk/beers.html

The web site says: "Thanks to the two fermentations in the Brakspear 'Double Drop' system and another in bottle, this highly aromatic and satisfying strong beer delivers its rich flavour with subtlety and balance.
Crystal, Black and Maris Otter pale malts provide the backbone of this outstanding rich beer. Hops are added three times to provide a good balance between bitterness and fragrance. Then bottle-conditioning allows the flavours to develop further complexity as it matures.
This is a triple fermented, triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles."  The bottle I drank was 1679898.  The bottle adds "This beer can be enjoyed cloudy, or wait for the sediment to settle and pour carefully for a clear, sparkling glass.  Alc 7.2% Vol."

A pleasant beer that provided some enjoyment and relief while making dinner.  I enjoyed the mellow taste with just a hint of hops, though the jet lag is still affecting my ability to appreciate the finer tastes and I think this is worth coming back to.
