Beer 220 - Leffe Blond (3.5 stars out of 5)

Brewed by SA Inbev Belgium, Brussels at the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven.  This beer shows that Anheuser Busch InBev can brew interesting and tasty beers when they want to.  Bought at HEB in a build your own six-pack and drunk at home in Katy with lunch on a beautiful spring afternoon, after I'd spent the morning running errands in the flying carpet with the top down.  It is a beautiful day.

The web site: http://www.leffe.com/en/beer/leffe-blond has an interesting mix of graphics and video with some nice food pairings, some of which can be downloaded from the "passport" tab.

The bottle says "Award winning Leffe blonde is a full-bodied deep golden ale that is surprisingly subtle and delicate.  Belgium's classic abbey ale is best served in its own chalice shaped glass, accentuating the ales aroma and creating the perfect head. 6.6% alc/vol" The web site adds "It is elegant, smooth and fruity, and it has a spicy aftertaste with a hint of bitter orange.  It's light sunny color is due to the use of pale malt, best at a temperature of 5 - 6 deg C"

I did enjoy this beer, it is light and flavorful with a nice hint of citrus flavor.
